[edit] found a copy of Ubuntu 8.10 onna disk. Relatively easy to set up?

SuSE. :)

Ubuntu is fairly easy to set up... according to the Frenchman. Debian is preferred by the Frenchman. I say SuSE. :D

Yeah, I think most Ubuntu disks are live disks anyway, so it'll all run from CD - albeit rather slowly.

If you do choose to install to harddisk, the installer will guide you though partitioning the disk, etc.
